Another great day to praise God.
Worship attendance = 547

Annette did a brilliant job in pulling off the now famous youtube version of "I'm the Mom." Actually, Annette was on tune, while the original author in this youtube version is clearly not a singer by profession.

Jeff followed up with an impassioned "Daughters" by John Mayer.

Great music!!!!

Message 3 of 5 in the Parental Guidance Suggested Required series

I want my children to grow up physically healthy, socially adjusted, educationally proficient, Spiritually connected, and with a strong sense of civic responsibility. So...

Discipline is CORRECTION driven by LOVE
(Proverbs 13:24, 29:15&17)

Biblical Guide to Discipline:
Do not LIFEGUARD your children

Beware of the DIVIDE and CONQUER approach
(Amos 3:3)

Discipline out of ANGER is for YOU and not for your CHILD

Outward obedience is not inward DISCIPLINE
(Ephesians 6:4)

Some practical advice from Pastor Dave:
Even the game of life has BOUNDARIES
Children need to know where the boundaries are. Given clear boundaries when young will allow them less suffering when they grow older and find themselves brushing up against other, legal boundaries.

Allow SUFFERING to be the punishment
When they brush up against the boundaries in life, allow their suffering to be enough punishment. Help them re-establish boundaries, maybe even re-assess what they are.

Discipline children EQUITABLY not EQUALLY
Your children are different from one another. God created them that way. You honor God's creation when you discipline according to the differences. Always be sure that the boundaries are the same (equitable) but equality is not necessary.
