Last night was really cool. After a great supper and a time of fellowship with some youth leaders from Platte Woods UMC. Great guys, good to get to know.
Then we headed back to Willow to hear the lead singer of Switchfoot, and the rest of the band, interviewed about their music and their ministry. This is an incredible cross over band that uses their music to "begin the conversation" about faith. At the end they were asked if they had if they any parting words or advice for the 1000+/- youth leaders present. One of them said, "In the Kingdom of Heaven the first will be last and the last will be first. That means that we'll be washing your dishes and tieing your shoes for you when we get there." What a cool comment.
The the lead singer, Jon Foreman, shared some of his solo stuff that is "unplugged" and even includes a cello. Cool stuff.
Looking forward to being back in KC tonight. Hope the flight isn't cancelled.
