Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday (Easter by tradition). What a great day it was. Music was awesome. Ron on "Lay it Down", Jeff on "All Because of You", and the rest of the music team testified to their faith as they led us. I can't thank you guys enough for your devotion to the ministry of Jesus Christ through using your gifts to serve.
Colene's Children's sermon hit the mark as she talked about burdens and brought out some heavy garden stones. I hadn't planned it with her enough ahead of time, but I was able to use those stones in the sermon and it worked out great.
Kevin's prayer, Marsha's leadership, the ushers, greeters, Sunday school leaders, Nursery workers, all provided the opportunity that 1027 people might connect to Christ through our Easter worship. Praise God and thanks to all of you.
My sermon was a very traditional and orthodox message on forgiveness and the salvation won for us through the cross and empty tomb. I concluded with a prayer of salvation and an invitation to join us on a journey of faith for the next two weeks to learn more on forgiveness. Next week, forgiving others. The following week, being forgiven by others.
I'm looking forward to next Sunday (known in England as "low Sunday" for the lack of attendance following Easter.) Our attendance has been high so far this year and I hope a great many of those 1000 will want to continue their connection with Christ through Good Shepherd.
