Ran my first 5k for the new year. January is not the best time of year to decide to run, but we ran in the Hunt Midwest caves (old limestone quarry converted to underground office space.) It was about 55-60 degrees and we did the whole thing, 3.1 miles without ever going outside. It's a really cool race The benefactor from the race is http://www.childrenstlc.org/ an organization that has helped Good Shepherd members, not to mention hundreds of other families in the KC area.
If you're a runner we'd love to have you join Team Good Shepherd. I'll list the remaining runs for 2010 as soon as I have a list. Just let me know and we'll get you in on the email announcements.
My time???? Let's just say I set the bar low so I would have an easy time to beat for the rest of the year.
