What a Sunday!!!

You can't believe the Sunday we had.  I'll get to that at the bottom of the post.  

First, here are the 3 questions Pastor Marsha challenged us to pray about for 2009.  (Note; I'll return to these questions next Sunday with some specifics for you to think about.)

1.  Jesus, what one thing do you want to change in me today?
2.  What is keeping me from changing?
3.  What one thing can I do today to begin changing?

Monday, December 22 - Read Isaiah 9:6
Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor.  How are you seeking his guidance for your life?  Where is Jesus prompting you to make changes in your choices and behaviors?

Tuesday, December 23 - Read John 14:15-16
Through the Hoy Spirit, Jesus’ teachings reside in us forever.  How does this give you confidence?

Wednesday, December 24 - Read John 14:23
Following Jesus examples and teachings is a natural response to loving him.  What is preventing you from living fully in this loving relationship?

Thursday, December 25 - Read Luke 2:6-14
Those who witnessed Jesus birth were awestruck, even fearful.  As you celebrate Jesus birthday, remember his super natural power to transform the world.  Where is that super natural transformation most needed today?

Friday, December 26 - Read John 14:27
We are assured that the counsel and peace that Jesus brings is different from anything else in this world.  Name those things you are fearful about and accept the peace Jesus provides to deal with them.

Saturday, December 27 - Read John 14:26
The Holy Sprit continues to remind us of all Jesus taught and said.  What teachings of Jesus do you believe are most significant?  How are you planning to live those out in the New Year?

Finally, I arrived at church at 6:45.  I had planned on getting there at 6:00 but my clutch went out on my truck so I had to get Nancy up early to take me there.  When I arrived I found that the worship center was only 55 degrees.  Since the heat was on all night, it didn't take too much mental math to figure out that there was a problem with the heaters.  Metro Heating and Cooling came by and banged on pipes during Marsha's 8:00 service sermon.  Found that the issue was a gas company problem and went on his marry way.  (That show up call will only cost around $350.)  The gas company found the problem to be in their gas meter or regulator or some such other whatzit or whozamajiggy.  They finished up around 2:30 in the afternoon.  Tempearature at the 5:30 service???  70 degrees.  Moral to this story? Have you considered the 5:30 service worship time yet?
