Goal #7

I asked the staff to consider making a goal for their own personal health. If they elected not to do so, no problem. However, if they elected to do so, they would be held accountable for it.
We are not a healthy nation. Just look around. Check out the restaurant offerings and the proliferation of fast food joints and quickie marts. My own family history is that we are prone to heart attacks and other heart disease issues. A couple of years ago I was given the "pre-diabetic" diagnosis. In other words my body couldn't keep up with the garbage I was dumping into it.
I began to get serious about running and exercising and actually lost about 30 pounds and ran a half-marathon. But I've been hovering in the 210-215 lbs range for about 6 months. I've set a personal health goal to help motivate me to continue to exercise, but to also take my eating habits seriously. My goal is to reach a weight between 180 and 200 by the end of the year. I'll be sorely disappointed if it is in that top range and shocked if I can reach that lower range. (By the way, according to webmd.com a healthy weight for me is between 130 and 160. Last time I was 165 I had been a laborer for a concrete company all summer long. What a hoot.)
